Tencarva

GPM Name Change

We are excited to announce an upcoming name change within GPM. As many of you may already know, the assets of GPM were purchased by Tencarva Machinery Company on September 30, 2011. Subsequent to the purchase, business was transacted in Georgia under the name, GPM, a Division of Tencarva Machinery Company and it was largely “business as usual” for our vendors supplying products and services to our operations in Georgia. In July of 2013, Tencarva purchased the assets of Pump Technology and Solutions in northern Georgia and went to market as Tencarva Machinery Company. Needless to say, there has been some confusion with our branding strategy.

Effective April 1, 2016, our operations in most of Georgia will be conducted under the Tencarva Machinery Company name (the Savannah market already transitioned to “Hudson Pump and Equipment” in December of 2015). Tencarva Machinery Company is the leading supplier of engineered products in southeastern United States and just celebrated its 38th anniversary. Tencarva is an employee owned company with over 350 employees. In Georgia, we have facilities in Macon, Savannah, Alpharetta, and Cumming to support our Georgia customer base but we also have 22 other locations scattered throughout the southeast, many of which have inventory and repair capabilities which can also be utilized to assist our Georgia customers as needed.

Again, it should be “business as usual” for our suppliers. We will still maintain our existing operations and facilities in Georgia and still purchase goods and services from the suppliers that currently support GPM, a Division of Tencarva Machinery Company.

The company name on our purchase orders will change as well as the way we answer the phone. Our payments have always been issued against a Tencarva Machinery Company bank account. What will not change is our commitment to our supply chain and our stellar record of paying our suppliers on time. We may need to get some vendor agreements updated and there may be other paperwork changes required unique to certain suppliers; I apologize for any inconvenience that may cause. It is worth noting that although we have used the GPM brand in Georgia, the legal entity after the asset purchase has always been Tencarva Machinery Company.

Lastly, thank you for being our partner. As a distributor and service provider, we know that we must offer our customers in Georgia quality products and services and we are fortunate in that the suppliers we represent are widely recognized as leaders in their respective markets. Tencarva will continue its commitment to helping each of you grow your respective businesses in Georgia.
